Leveraging the technological heritage of these renowned companies, Knowles supplies highly engineered components to the following key markets:

Core Applications

Electric and hybrid vehicle and automotive
Medical implantable and medical equipment
Military and Aerospace/Avionics
EMI and connector filtering, oil exploration, optical networks
Knowles’ product portfolio spans single-layer, multi-layer capacitors, EMI filters, RF/microwave filters, splitters and couplers.
With the acquisition of Cornell Dubilier (CDE) in 2023, Knowles expanded its capabilities to include high-quality film capacitors, electrolytic capacitors, mica capacitors, and supercapacitors—strengthening its position as a comprehensive supplier of high-performance passive components.

Cornell Dubilier traces its origins back to 1909, when founder William Dubilier developed the first capacitor using mica.
Shortly after, he began manufacturing capacitors and contributed to World War I through the development of submarine detection systems.
In 1933, the company merged with Cornell Radio to become Cornell Dubilier (CDE).
As radio and television broadcasting rapidly expanded, CDE grew into one of the world’s leading capacitor manufacturers.
By 1966, the company held more than 350 patents in wireless and electrical science, solidifying its reputation as a global innovator in capacitor technology.
